What does a typical day in your role look like?
Most of my day is spent translating provider notes into precise codes, making sure every diagnosis and procedure tells the correct story. I juggle crucial medical coding systems – essential for billing, tracking care, and ensuring medical necessity for insurance claims, as well as scrub claims before submission, chase denials like a detective, and explain to insurance companies (politely, repeatedly) why yes, that procedure really was medically necessary.
What is your favorite part about your job and why?
I get to be the calm, knowledgeable guide in a very confusing insurance maze for our patients. I help them understand their benefits, translate “insurance-ese” into plain English, and secure those notoriously hard-to-get authorizations that feel a little like winning a mini lottery for our Practice.

What is your favorite hobby, activity, or creative outlet?
I am a Harley Davidson Enthusiast and have owned many bikes. I love to ride!
