Liposuction can sculpt these areas and provide a more pleasing contour. The liposuction surgeons at The Peer Group perform this cosmetic plastic surgery for men and women in Short Hills, Randolph, Harding and communities throughout northern New Jersey, and can answer all your questions about this and other aesthetic surgery procedures.
Liposuction Techniques
The preferred technique our plastic surgeons use in liposuction employs a wetting solution, which is generally considered to be one of the safest and most effective techniques. Liposuction uses moderate amounts of anesthetic in the treatment area to make fat cells easier for the surgeon to extract. Side effects such as bleeding, skin irritation, and swelling are typically reduced with liposuction using a wetting solution. Our surgeons will discuss this option with you in detail, and show you photos of patients taken before and after liposuction so you can see the potential results of the procedure at your initial consultation at our facility in northern New Jersey.
Liposuction Procedure
How the liposuction procedure is carried out will largely depend on the technique that will be employed. Traditional liposuction cosmetic surgery is performed by inserting a long metal tube called a cannula into small incisions made in the treatment area. The cannula is gently moved back and forth, vacuuming out fat cells and ultimately providing a new contour to the area. The length of time a liposuction patient will be in surgery depends on the number and size of areas that he or she is having treated. Most liposuction procedures last about two hours or less.
Liposuction Recovery
Most liposuction patients are able to return to work within a few days. Some swelling and bruising is to be expected; however this should dissipate significantly as healing progresses. If your attempts at losing weight in problem areas have been fruitless, let the plastic surgeons at The Peer Group in Florham Park, serving Mountain Lakes, Denville, Mendham and all of northern New Jersey answer your questions about effective aesthetic plastic surgery treatments that can provide a solution.
