Sculpt Your Upper Legs In New Jersey

The thighs are a common place for fat to “collect,” leading to a bulky and bottom-heavy look. Executing a successful weight loss plan is an ideal way to remedy this cosmetic issue, but even this strategy can lead to problems: lax skin that sags and isolated pockets of stubborn fat cells. A thigh lift at New Jersey’s The Peer Group addresses both sagging and bulges by removing the unneeded skin and fat in a procedure designed to shape and sculpt the thighs so that they look naturally slimmer.

Each thigh lift is carried out by one of The Peer Group’s plastic surgeons, serving Livingston, Morristown, and beyond by offering a range of plastic surgery options to give every patient a customized look. Our team has significant experience in thigh lifts specifically and body contouring procedures more generally.

What Is A Thigh Lift?

Although weight loss has numerous benefits, from improving heart health to creating a leaner silhouette, it can also give some women and men an unintended new challenge: sagging skin. Skin that has been stretched out to cover growing bulges of fat underneath should theoretically tighten back down as those bulges of fat shrink. However, skin laxity increases as a person ages, and anyone who loses a considerable amount of weight can usually anticipate that they will have sagging tissues—especially if the weight loss was rapid or in excess of 100 lbs.

Another problem is our inability to control exactly which fat cells shrink as we diet and exercise. Areas on the upper body may grow noticeably slimmer over time, while bulging pockets remain elsewhere.

A thigh lift involves excising the loose skin, as well as suctioning out any fat cells that prove too stubborn for diets.

Considerations

If you are unhappy with the way your thighs look after you’ve lost weight, had a baby, or seen your skin loosen and sag as you’ve gotten older, a thigh lift could be the ideal procedure for you. We can help you with your decision when you schedule a consultation with one of our experienced plastic surgeons at The Peer Group. This consultation will involve a discussion of your goals, and we can suggest a plan of action after learning about the contours you want and seeing the degree of sagging to be corrected.

Procedure

Like every plastic surgery procedure with The Peer Group, a thigh lift begins with a board-certified anesthesiologist providing an anesthetic at our private on-site AAAASF-certified operating room.

Incisions are made on the inner thighs, the outer thighs, or both—depending on your treatment goals. Every effort is made to keep the incisions as small as possible, which results in scars that are inconspicuous. Stubborn fat cells will be removed through these incisions, excess skin will be trimmed away, and the remaining skin will be tightened so that the thighs appear smooth and firm instead of baggy. Finally, the incisions will be sealed.

Results

Patients will be able to see their thigh lift results as soon as the procedure is finished, but the “final look” will not be visible until the post-surgical swelling recedes. The new contours are best maintained through continued healthy eating and exercise, since new weight gain can cause changes to the results, especially as skin continues to age.

Costs

We can discuss thigh lift costs with you during your consultation, once we determine whether the surgery will focus on the inner, outer, or all of the thighs. We can also go over any financing questions you may have.

Additional Options

People who have lax skin on their thighs likely have excess fat and loose or sagging skin elsewhere, too. The Peer Group offers a range of body surgery options, including tummy tuck, liposuction, and arm lifts. Any and all of these can be incorporated into an upper or lower body lift, post weight-loss body surgery, or a Mommy Makeover.
