What is DAXXIFY™?
DAXXIFY™, which is known as daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm, is an injectable that works in the same way as BOTOX® and other botulinum toxin type A wrinkle relaxers. Simply put, it blocks certain chemical signals from the nerves that tell the muscles to contract.
Injections of DAXXIFY™ cause certain muscles to temporarily relax as a way of reducing wrinkles. Since the muscles will not be able to move the way they normally do, the associated wrinkles will appear less pronounced. Neuromodulators are temporary treatments, so the effects will wear off over time. Patients can choose further injections to maintain the skin-smoothing effects.
One of the main advantages of DAXXIFY™ is that it’s the longest-lasting botulinum toxin injectable with a duration of six months on average for most patients.
