About the Skin

Your skin is made up of two layers, the epidermis and dermis. The top layer is called the epidermis, and is approximately 1/1000 of an inch thick. Since this micro thin layer is directly exposed to the effects of the environment (i.e., sun and pollution), it is frequently damaged, obscuring the skin’s clarity, tone, texture, and color. Exfoliation rids the skin of dead cells by removing this top layer. The second layer, the dermis, also affects the appearance of your skin. A healthy life style, consisting of exercise, a balanced diet, adequate rest, the use of sun blocks, avoidance of smoking, and limited alcohol consumption helps to maintain the dermis.

La Roche-Posay Biomedic

Recommended by many dermatologists, La Roche-Posay skin care offers a range of products to address many common skin conditions. Rosacea, acne, eczema, dry skin, signs of aging and skin damage can be treated with the La Roche-Posay product line. La Roche-Posay uses the effective antioxidant known as selenium to reduce the appearance of skin damage and rejuvenate the face for a more youthful aesthetic. Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical method of exfoliating the outer skin layers with a series of treatments two to three weeks apart. During the procedure, the outer layer of dead skin cells is gently suctioned off, allowing the healthy skin layer underneath to be brought forth. Microdermabrasion treatments typically last between 30 to 60 minutes.

Superficial Chemical Peels

Superficial chemical peels are a low-risk, pleasant, and convenient way of improving your skin’s appearance, and are sometimes referred to as “lunchtime peels.” Using alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic or lactic acid, or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), such as salicylic acid; chemical peels transform your skin, leaving a fresh, healthy, youthful glow, softening fine lines, fading dark spots, and diminishing enlarged pores and acne scarring.
