HAIR REMOVAL
Our Cutera CoolGlide® laser safely and effectively removes unwanted hair of the face and body. Facial hair of the lip, chin and sideburns are most commonly requested. Underarms, bikini areas and nipples are other popular areas. The CoolGlide® laser utilizes a chilled hand piece that reduces the stinging sensation. No anesthesia is required but some patients like a topical numbing cream. Most areas require three to six treatments to permanently reduce the number of hair follicles that are actively growing hair. As dormant follicles grow new hair they are removed with successive treatments. Typically, treatments are spaced four to six weeks apart. CoolGlide® can treat all skin types and tanned skin with no down time.
ProWave™ is used for hair reduction on larger areas of the body, such as the back or legs. It has a larger chilled hand piece that treats all skin types quickly and safely, eliminating the need for anesthesia. Four to six treatments are usually necessary and are spaced about four to six weeks apart.

VEIN THERAPY
Unsightly veins of the face and body can be treated with our Cutera CoolGlide® laser to make them disappear. Superficial facial veins and mid-depth spider veins on the face or body are most frequently treated. Typically, one or two treatments are needed for the face and two or three treatments are needed for the legs. Patients with all skin tones can be treated. Blood blisters and port wine stains can also be treated. The cold tip on the hand piece minimizes discomfort. Following treatment, the face may be a little pink for an hour or so. The leg veins are usually pink for a day or two. Occasionally, tan pigment is present in the legs for several weeks as the vein absorbs. Following treatment most normal activities can be resumed immediately and exercise can be started in a day.
BROWN SPOTS and RED AREAS
LimeLite Facial™ is a light based treatment that removes brown pigmentation of the face, neck and chest that comes from sun damage. It offers dramatic results for the hands and arms as well. LimeLite Facial™ is also useful in removing red areas caused by broken capillaries and rosacia. Treatments are done with a cool gel and the hand piece is also chilled to minimize discomfort. Two to three treatments, lasting from one half to one hour are typically needed, depending on the areas to be treated. There is no postoperative down time, some mild redness fades quickly in a few hours. The brown spots darken and fade in a week or two. Once the complexion has cleared, sun protection is important to prevent further sun damage.
THE PEARL™ PROCEDURE
The Cutera laser system, available here at our plastic surgery center in the Short Hills and Morristown, New Jersey area, provides a safe and effective treatment for restoring the skin’s natural beauty. Pearl™ reduces wrinkles, uneven texture and sun damage with fewer treatments and less recovery than other available treatments. It produces a healthy glow to the complexion. This is accomplished with two effects. The skin surface is treated with laser light for resurfacing as heat is delivered to the deeper layers to firm and tighten the skin. A natural dressing is formed that washes off in a few days to reveal smoother healthier skin. The normal down time for this treatment is three to four days. Usually one or two treatments, spaced one month apart are needed to achieve optimal results. Patients with light to medium skin tones with mild to moderate sun damage are ideal candidates for Pearl™ resurfacing.

THE TITAN™ PROCEDURE
Titan™ is a technology that uses infrared light to heat the deep layers of the skin to achieve tightening and firming of facial and body skin. Cooling of the surface prevents damage to this layer, eliminating down time. The most common areas to be treated are the neck, face and abdomen. Other areas of skin laxity such as elbows and knees can also be treated. Noticeable results can be achieved in one treatment. However 2-3 treatments spaced one month apart are needed for optimal results with loose skin. The procedure heats then cools the skin in a series of pulses, each lasting a few seconds. A topical anesthetic is applied one hour before the treatment. Immediately following a treatment mild redness and swelling are present. This disappears in a few hours. The skin then gradually tightens as new collagen is formed.
LASER GENESIS
Our Laser Genesis system uses non-invasive laser light to safely treat fine wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture, redness and scars. Topical anesthetics are not needed. Patients achieve excellent results on face and neck treatments. Commonly treated areas are the nose, cheeks and neck. Rosacia responds well to Laser Genesis. With each treatment the redness is lessened. The treatment produces a warming sensation of the skin. Mild redness may occur, but subsides within a few hours. Laser Genesis restores the skin’s youthful texture, with greatly diminishing pore size, lessening or eliminating sun damage, and restoring a smoother skin texture. Four to six treatments are needed to achieve optimal results.
