A tummy tuck, often used in conjunction with liposuction, can
be performed at our New Jersey facility to improve the appearance of your
stomach so you can finally feel comfortable in a bathing suit.
Sometimes no matter how many abdominal exercises one does, eliminating excess
fat or that "pouch" on the lower stomach seems impossible. A recent
birth or lost weight just intensifies the challenge. Abdominoplasty is a surgical
procedure that provides a safe and effective method to help patients get the taut,
flat midsection that exercise has failed to achieve.
Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure to
remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the
muscles of the abdominal wall. Abdominoplasty can dramatically reduce the appearance
of a protruding abdomen, but bear in mind, it does produce a permanent scar which,
(depending on the extent of the original problem) can extend from hip to hip.
During the abdominoplasty procedure an incision is made just above the pubic area,
and the plastic surgeon then separates the skin from the abdominal wall all the way up
to the ribs. The muscles of the abdomen are tightened, the lifted skin is then stretched
down, and the extra skin is removed. A new opening is made for the navel and the incision is then stitched closed.
Most patients recover from an abdominoplasty within two weeks, but they are
advised to refrain from some physical activity until the healing process is complete.
This normally takes about a month. If you have questions about abdominoplasty
or "tummy tuck" and live in Short Hills, Chatham, Livingston, or another local
New Jersey city, schedule

Despite a regular exercise program and a healthy diet, some people cannot remove the fat
pockets, and deposits that concentrate in their problem areas. Liposuction at our New Jersey
practice can help. Presently the most popular cosmetic surgery procedure, liposuction (also
known as "lipoplasty" or "suction lipectomy"), sculpts the body by removing
undesirable fat from areas around the thighs, knees, buttocks, waist, love handles, hips,
abdomen, chin, cheeks, neck and upper arms. Liposuction can sculpt these areas and provide a
more pleasing contour. Ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL), power assisted liposuction (PAL),
tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique are among the various methods used to provide
precise results. Combined with diet and exercise, liposuction in New Jersey at The Peer Group
provides long lasting improvement of contours of the face and body.
The length of time a liposuction patient will be in surgery depends on the number of areas that
he or she is having worked on. Most liposuction patients are able to return to work within a few days.
If your attempts at losing weight in problem areas have been fruitless, and if you're investigating
liposuction further, let us answer your questions and take a look at your personal case! We provide
liposuction to New Jersey patients from Short Hills, Chatham, and Livingston from our office in Florham Park.
Gynecomastia is a common condition in which a man's chest develops excess tissue, largely made up of fat and some glandular tissue, that creates an appearance similar to protruding breasts. It is estimated that anywhere from 40 to 60 percent of all men will develop gynecomastia at some point in their lives. Although some drugs and medical problems are believed to increase the risk that a man will experience gynecomastia, the actual causes of the condition are unknown.
A man who suffers from gynecomastia may feel self-conscious about the appearance of his chest, and may avoid situations in which his gynecomastia would be noticeable, such as visits to the beach. If you feel embarrassed about the appearance of your chest, male breast reduction surgery at the Peer Group Plastic Surgery Center may be able to help you achieve a more ideal body contour.
Many gynecomastia cases can be successfully treated using liposuction. New Jersey area men whose gynecomastia is comprised mainly of fatty tissues can have that fat removed over the course of a short liposuction procedure at our facility in Florham Park. The skin on your chest naturally conforms to the new shape of your torso, leaving you with a much flatter, more contoured chest.
If you have large amounts of gland tissue in your chest, your physician will surgically remove it, and may also perform a liposuction procedure to remove any excess fat that may contribute to your gynecomastia. In particularly severe cases, some skin may be removed in order to achieve the optimal chest shape. In any case, your doctor will work to keep scars to a minimum, and to strategically place them so they remain inconspicuous.
