When we were very young and saw ourselves in the mirror for the first time, we stared and tried to put the mirror in our mouth. Then we watched our first teeth wiggle and finally fall out. We giggled and stuck our tongues out - mirrors were fun! As teenagers, we stole a sideways glance to catch our maturing images; and as young adults, we looked straight on to take stock of what we had, and didn't have. Good, bad or otherwise. The mirror was our constant companion: You tried new hair styles, make-up, you plucked, picked and poked, checked your teeth, your lipstick and checked what was going on behind you, and always sneaked a peek. Sometimes you were satisfied with what you saw; sometimes not. Our mirrors caught the reflections of a bright and shiny world around us, filled with expectations and youth!
And then the day comes when we see our own reflections and for a split second, wonder "who is that person?" In our own mirror. If this has never happened to you - read no further. But if it has, welcome to the new relationship. Some would say it is here to stay. I say maybe not. I say plastic surgery. You say, "I couldn't do anything"..."I'd be afraid; I'd feel too guilty to spend the money; my family wouldn't want me to; my husband will kill me; it will hurt; I won't look like myself; I'll look like Joan Rivers; I just don't have the nerve".
It is a fact that some people just do not care enough about their facial aging to ever do anything. And that is fine for them. They grow into their skin gracefully. Period. But for those of us who do think about maintaining a more youthful appearance, we would like to offer you a chance to find out what can be done...(do mention the blog.) Go back to the mirror and pull up that neck, pull back those cheeks and raise up that forehead. See the potential. Call us to discuss the potential. "Mirror, mirror on the wall, it is The Peer Group, I will call." I promise you a learning experience and a chance to embrace the mirror again - even kiss it.
